नोट गिविंग उप सिगारेत्तेस

Hello again blog-readers (2). Well I started smoking again after 8 days smokeless.
Getting along alright with "Q" - as long as I keep the upper hand with her. She tries to take over my life, after I invite her in she won't leave, etc.
Q, Q, Q! Part of my life already.
What else is there to report? I am feeling better - not depressed - and actually have been working on my poetry book for a change. I hope to have it finished by Jan. 2012 or sooner.
That's all for now, folks. Bedebedebede

Giving up cigarettes

No one ever said it was going to be easy. But today I finally did - quit smoking. A pretty bad bronchitis drove me to it. I still have my e-cigarettes and my nicorette gum.

"क्यू"

Lately my life is all about my neighbor, whom I'll call Q. I don't know why the title of this came out in another language, maybe Sanskrit or something, but I don't know how to change it so I'll just have to deal with it.

My neighbor is like a dill pickle. One pickle, okay. Too many pickles, not okay. Indigestion. Pickle (Q) wants to be around me all the time. Q always has an upset stomach or a headache or is too hot or has trouble walking. Q has a nasty little dog, which I'll say, to his credit, has never bitten me, but he has bitten her once or twice and also bit her mother frequently (the mother died in Dec. of last year, but not from a dog bite). The dog, in fact, seems to like me. Not so strange because every time I go over there I feed him crackers or something. One day I brought pork chops, which were too well done for Q, so he had a feast. I don't think he's forgotten that.

Q is a fine artist who has always painted on porcelain. I say, of all things, Q, why did you have to choose that? Imagine devoting your life to painting on porcelain! She says she used to make money at it once. Now she has all these lovely porcelain things that she can't get rid of. I offered to buy a painted clock for $20. That's about my limit.

The more I think about it, the more she is like a caricature. But then some of the finest people you'll ever meet are caricatures. Enough for now. I hope to write more about Q or something else tomorrow. Goodbye, all my fans (2).

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Hello and welcome to the first Sunday of November. We are rolling our own cigarettes now - discovered we could buy the filters. The cigarettes are pretty good, but they keep going out and have to be re-lit. Especially in the wind. And they really make you and your clothes smell like tobacco. People cough as you walk by. Oh, well.

I want to get organized and clear out everything I don't need and create more space. My living room is very cluttered. What does it say about someone if they're a clutterer? First of all, things must be clean. Litter boxes cleaned frequently. Dishes washed. Those are number one things. Floors should be mopped. Cluttered spaces arranged better. It's hard for me to get rid of things. But I bought a new fan for the kitchen and a new litter box and threw out the old ones. With old magazines, I hesitate because sometimes I like to read the ones I never got to. It's kind of strange reading old news in the US News and World Report, but they have other articles that are very interesting. In the Reader's Digest I read something about diets, and they recommended eating pickles. I do eat pickles a lot. More than ever. Right now I like Mount Olive Kosher Baby Dills. I also love Vlasic pickles. And I love the pickle juice too. Strange how vinegar is good for your stomach. You wouldn't think so, would you? People say there is too much salt in the pickle juice, but I don't think so. I have to watch my blood pressure, but I love a little salt.
Emily Dickinson enjoyed being nobody but I don't!
I am having trouble posting a title. It is coming out in another language! Looks kinda like Chinese or something. Well anyway, I read my poetry tonight at a little cafe called VoxPop. It was very exciting to share my poetry, and I really enjoyed it.
People liked me too. It looks like I may have a chance to put some paintings up there too, but they are booked up until November. I have to get pictures of them and send them online to the owner of VoxPop. I am very excited.
